Sou setyèm jou a, yo leve lè bajou kase, yo mache menm jan an. Men, jou sa a yo fè wonn lavil la sèt fwa. Se jou sa a ase yo te fè wonn lavil la sèt fwa. Setyèm fwa a, apre prèt yo fin kònen kòn belye yo, Jozye di pèp la konsa: — Nou mèt rele kounyeya! Senyè a lage lavil la nan men nou! Nou pral ofri lavil la ak tou sa ki ladan l tankou yon ofrann pou Bondye. Nou pral touye dènye moun ki ladan l. Sèl moun ki va rete vivan, se va Rarab, jennès la, ak tout moun ki va lakay li, paske li te kache mesaje nou te voye yo. Men, nou menm, pa mete men nan sa nou gen pou nou detwi pou Senyè a. Si nou manyen sa nou gen pou nou detwi yo, n'ap lakòz malè tonbe sou kay moun Izrayèl yo, n'ap lakòz tèt chaje vin pou tout moun. Tout bagay ki fèt ak lò, ak lajan, ak fè osinon ak kwiv, n'a mete yo apa pou Senyè a. N'a depoze yo nan depo richès Senyè a. Se konsa, yo kònen kòn belye yo. Tande pèp la tande son kòn belye yo, yo pouse yon sèl gwo rèl, epi miray ranpa lavil la tonbe plat atè. Epi chak moun pran mache dwat devan yo sou lavil la, yo anvayi l. Yo ofri tou sa ki nan lavil la bay Senyè a. Avèk nepe yo, yo touye tout moun nan lavil la, fanm kou gason, granmoun kou timoun, tout bèf, tout mouton, tout bourik. Jozye rele de mesye li te voye ankachèt al bay lavil Jeriko kontwòl, li di yo: — Ale kay jennès la. Fè li soti ak tout fanmi li, jan nou te pwomèt li a. Se konsa y ale, yo fè Rarab sòti ansanm ak papa l, manman l, frè l yo, tout rès fanmi l yo ak tou sa yo te genyen, yo enstale yo yon kote andeyò kan moun Izrayèl yo.

Le septième jour, ils se lèvent avant le soleil et ils font sept fois le tour de la ville de la même façon. C’est le seul jour où ils font sept fois le tour de la ville. La septième fois, quand les prêtres ont soufflé dans leur corne, Josué dit au peuple : « Poussez le cri de guerre ! Le SEIGNEUR vous a livré la ville ! La ville et tout ce qu’elle contient est réservée au SEIGNEUR, elle doit donc être détruite. Nous laisserons en vie uniquement Rahab, la prostituée, et tous ceux qui sont dans sa maison, parce qu’elle a caché nos espions . Vous, faites attention ! Ne prenez rien de ce qui est interdit et doit être détruit. Sinon, vous ferez tomber le malheur sur le camp d’Israël, et il sera détruit. Tout l’argent, l’or et les objets en bronze et en fer, vous les consacrerez au SEIGNEUR et vous les mettrez dans son trésor. » Alors les prêtres soufflent dans leur corne. Le peuple pousse un grand cri de guerre, et les murs de la ville tombent. Les Israélites montent tout de suite vers la ville, chacun droit devant soi, et ils la prennent. Ils font mourir tous ceux qui sont dans la ville, hommes et femmes, jeunes et vieux. Ils tuent aussi les bœufs, les moutons et les ânes. Josué dit aux deux hommes qui ont cherché à connaître la région de Jéricho : « Allez dans la maison de Rahab, la prostituée. Faites-la sortir avec toute sa famille, selon le serment que vous lui avez fait. » Les deux espions vont chez elle : ils emmènent Rahab, ses parents, ses frères et sœurs, et toutes les autres personnes de sa famille. Ils les mettent à l’abri à l’extérieur du camp des Israélites.

On the seventh day, they got up at daybreak and marched around the city seven times in the same manner, except that on that day they circled the city seven times. The seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua commanded the army, “Shout! For the LORD has given you the city! The city and all that is in it are to be devoted to the LORD. Only Rahab the prostitute and all who are with her in her house shall be spared, because she hid the spies we sent. But keep away from the devoted things, so that you will not bring about your own destruction by taking any of them. Otherwise you will make the camp of Israel liable to destruction and bring trouble on it. All the silver and gold and the articles of bronze and iron are sacred to the LORD and must go into his treasury.” When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city. They devoted the city to the LORD and destroyed with the sword every living thing in it—men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys. Joshua said to the two men who had spied out the land, “Go into the prostitute’s house and bring her out and all who belong to her, in accordance with your oath to her.” So the young men who had done the spying went in and brought out Rahab, her father and mother, her brothers and sisters and all who belonged to her. They brought out her entire family and put them in a place outside the camp of Israel.

Le septième jour, ils se levèrent dès l’aurore et firent sept fois le tour de la ville de la même manière. C’est le seul jour où ils en firent sept fois le tour. La septième fois, lorsque les prêtres sonnèrent du cor, Josué ordonna au peuple : Poussez des cris, car l’Eternel vous livre la ville ! La ville avec tout ce qu’elle contient sera vouée à l’Eternel ; seule Rahab, la prostituée, sera laissée en vie avec tous ceux qui se trouveront dans sa maison, car elle a caché les hommes que nous avions envoyés. Mais attention ! Prenez bien garde à ce qui doit être voué à l’Eternel. Ne prenez rien de cela, sinon vous placeriez le camp d’Israël sous une sentence de destruction et vous lui attireriez le malheur. Tout l’argent et l’or, tous les objets de bronze et de fer seront consacrés à l’Eternel et on les mettra dans son trésor. On sonna donc du cor. Dès que le peuple l’entendit, il poussa un formidable cri, et le rempart s’écroula sur place. Aussitôt, les Israélites s’élancèrent à l’assaut de la ville, chacun droit devant soi, et ils s’en emparèrent. Ils exterminèrent par l’épée pour les vouer à l’Eternel hommes et femmes, enfants et vieillards, taureaux, moutons et ânes : tout ce qui vivait dans la ville. Josué dit aux deux hommes qu’il avait envoyés pour explorer le pays : Allez à la maison de Rahab, la prostituée, et faites-la sortir de là avec les siens, comme vous le lui avez juré. Les deux hommes y allèrent et firent sortir Rahab, son père, sa mère, ses frères, ses biens et toute sa parenté, et ils les installèrent en dehors du camp d’Israël.
