The word of the LORD came to me: “Son of man, you are living among a rebellious people. They have eyes to see but do not see and ears to hear but do not hear, for they are a rebellious people. “Therefore, son of man, pack your belongings for exile and in the daytime, as they watch, set out and go from where you are to another place. Perhaps they will understand, though they are a rebellious people. During the daytime, while they watch, bring out your belongings packed for exile. Then in the evening, while they are watching, go out like those who go into exile. While they watch, dig through the wall and take your belongings out through it. Put them on your shoulder as they are watching and carry them out at dusk. Cover your face so that you cannot see the land, for I have made you a sign to the Israelites.” So I did as I was commanded. During the day I brought out my things packed for exile. Then in the evening I dug through the wall with my hands. I took my belongings out at dusk, carrying them on my shoulders while they watched. In the morning the word of the LORD came to me: “Son of man, did not the Israelites, that rebellious people, ask you, ‘What are you doing?’ “Say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: This prophecy concerns the prince in Jerusalem and all the Israelites who are there.’ Say to them, ‘I am a sign to you.’ “As I have done, so it will be done to them. They will go into exile as captives. “The prince among them will put his things on his shoulder at dusk and leave, and a hole will be dug in the wall for him to go through. He will cover his face so that he cannot see the land. I will spread my net for him, and he will be caught in my snare; I will bring him to Babylonia, the land of the Chaldeans, but he will not see it, and there he will die. I will scatter to the winds all those around him—his staff and all his troops—and I will pursue them with drawn sword. “They will know that I am the LORD, when I disperse them among the nations and scatter them through the countries. But I will spare a few of them from the sword, famine and plague, so that in the nations where they go they may acknowledge all their detestable practices. Then they will know that I am the LORD.” The word of the LORD came to me: “Son of man, tremble as you eat your food, and shudder in fear as you drink your water. Say to the people of the land: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says about those living in Jerusalem and in the land of Israel: They will eat their food in anxiety and drink their water in despair, for their land will be stripped of everything in it because of the violence of all who live there. The inhabited towns will be laid waste and the land will be desolate. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’ ” The word of the LORD came to me: “Son of man, what is this proverb you have in the land of Israel: ‘The days go by and every vision comes to nothing’? Say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am going to put an end to this proverb, and they will no longer quote it in Israel.’ Say to them, ‘The days are near when every vision will be fulfilled. For there will be no more false visions or flattering divinations among the people of Israel. But I the LORD will speak what I will, and it shall be fulfilled without delay. For in your days, you rebellious people, I will fulfill whatever I say, declares the Sovereign LORD.’ ” The word of the LORD came to me: “Son of man, the Israelites are saying, ‘The vision he sees is for many years from now, and he prophesies about the distant future.’ “Therefore say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: None of my words will be delayed any longer; whatever I say will be fulfilled, declares the Sovereign LORD.’ ”

W'a fè yo tout wè ou ap pati kite kote ou ye a pou ou ale yon lòt kote ou pa janm konnen! Sa ka fè yo rekonèt jan yo gen tèt di. Gwo lajounen w'a fè pakèt ou pati, pou yo ka wè ou. Mesay sa a se va yon avètisman pou chèf lavil Jerizalèm lan ansanm ak pou tout moun pèp Izrayèl ki rete nan lavil la. W'a di yo tou sa ou te fè a, se tankou yon avètisman pou sa ki pral rive yo. Yo pral fè yo prizonye, y'ap depòte yo. Chèf k'ap gouvènen yo a pral mete pakèt li sou zepòl li nan fènwa, l'ap chape kò l nan yon twou y'a fè nan miray la pou li. L'ap bouche figi l pou yo pa rekonèt li, li pa menm wè kote l'ap mete pye l. M'ap voye privye mwen dèyè li, m'ap pran l ladan l. Lèfini, m'ap mennen l lavil Babilòn nan peyi moun Kalde yo. Konsa, lè y'a nan mitan lòt nasyon yo, y'a rakonte jan yo te fè bagay ki derespektan, y'a konnen se mwen menm ki Senyè a. Senyè a pale avè m ankò, li di m konsa: — Ras Adan! Lè w'ap manje, tranble kou fèy bwa. Bwè dlo ou ak kè sote, ak kè sere. W'a di moun peyi a men mesay Senyè Bondye sèl Mèt la voye bay moun lavil Jerizalèm yo k'ap viv toujou nan peyi a: Y'ap manje ak kè sere, y'ap bwè ak kè sote. Peyi a pral tounen yon savann, p'ap gen anyen ladan l ankò. Tou sa, akòz mechanste moun k'ap viv ladan l yo. Yo pral detwi lavil ki plen moun yo. Peyi a ap tounen yon dezè. Lè sa a, y'a konnen se mwen menm ki Senyè a. Senyè a pale avè m ankò, li di m konsa: — Ras Adan! Poukisa pawoli sa a ap repete nan peyi a: Jou ale, jou vini. Pyès vizyon pa akonpli? Kounyeya, di yo men mesay Senyè a, Bondye sèl Mèt la, voye ba yo: Mwen pral fè yo sispann repete pawòl sa a. Yo p'ap janm tande l ankò nan bouch moun pèp Izrayèl yo. Di yo: Men jou a rive. Men sa yo te di ki pou rive a pral rive vre! Nan mitan pèp Izrayèl la, p'ap gen moun k'ap fè vizyon pou twonpe moun ankò, p'ap gen pwofèt pou bay manti. Se mwen menm Senyè a ki pral pale ak yo. Sa m'di k'ap rive a, l'ap rive vre. Tande sa byen, bann wondonmon! Anvan nou mouri, sa ap rive. Non, se pa gagay k'ap pran tan ankò pou li rive. Se mwen menm Senyè sèl Mèt la ki di sa. Senyè a pale avè m ankò, li di m konsa: — Ras Adan! Moun Izrayèl yo ap di vizyon w'ap fè yo poko prèt pou rive. Mesaj w'ap bay yo, se pa pou yo. Y'a gentan mouri anvan sa ou di a rive. Le SEIGNEUR m’a adressé sa parole. Il m’a dit : « Toi, l’homme, tu vis au milieu d’une bande de révoltés. Ils ont des yeux pour voir, mais ils ne voient pas. Ils ont des oreilles pour entendre, mais ils n’entendent pas. Oui, c’est une bande de révoltés. Eh bien, toi, l’homme, rassemble les affaires nécessaires à un déporté, pendant la journée, sous les yeux de tous. Quitte ta maison comme un déporté qui part pour un autre lieu. Fais cela sous les yeux de tous. Alors ils comprendront peut-être qu’ils sont une bande de révoltés. Tu sortiras tes affaires de chez toi pendant la journée et sous les yeux de tous. Et le soir, tu partiras sous leurs yeux comme quelqu’un qui va être déporté. Toujours sous leurs yeux, tu feras un trou dans le mur et tu sortiras par là. Sous leurs yeux, tu chargeras tes affaires sur ton épaule, et tu les emporteras pendant la nuit. Tu couvriras ton visage et tu ne pourras pas voir où tu vas. De cette façon, je fais de toi celui qui prévient les Israélites. » J’ai agi comme le SEIGNEUR me l’avait commandé. En plein jour, j’ai sorti mon bagage, un bagage de déporté. Le soir, j’ai fait un trou dans le mur avec mes mains. Les gens m’ont vu partir dans la nuit, avec mon sac sur l’épaule. Le matin suivant, le SEIGNEUR m’a adressé sa parole. Il m’a dit : « Toi, l’homme, écoute ! Cette bande de révoltés, le peuple d’Israël, va sans doute te demander : “Qu’est-ce que tu fais là ?” Réponds-leur : “Voici les paroles du Seigneur DIEU : C’est un avertissement pour celui qui gouverne à Jérusalem et pour tous les Israélites qui habitent là.” Dis-leur : Je vous préviens de ce qui va arriver. Ce que j’ai fait, voilà ce qu’on vous fera. Vous serez déportés, vous partirez en exil . Celui qui vous dirige mettra ses affaires sur son épaule dans la nuit, et il quittera la ville. On fera un trou dans le mur, et il sortira par là. Il couvrira son visage et il ne verra pas où il va. Moi, le SEIGNEUR, je vais lui tendre un piège et je le ferai prisonnier. Je l’emmènerai dans le pays des Babyloniens, mais il ne pourra pas voir ce pays. C’est là-bas qu’il mourra . Je ferai partir de tous côtés tous ceux qui entourent votre chef, ses gardes et ses soldats. Puis je les poursuivrai avec mon épée. Quand je les ferai partir parmi les autres peuples et dans des pays étrangers, ils sauront que le SEIGNEUR, c’est moi. Mais je laisserai quelques hommes échapper à la guerre, à la famine et à la peste. Alors ceux-là raconteront aux habitants des pays où ils iront toutes les actions horribles qu’ils ont faites. Et ces habitants sauront que le SEIGNEUR, c’est moi. » Le SEIGNEUR m’a encore adressé sa parole : « Toi, l’homme, mange ton pain en tremblant, bois ton eau dans la peur et l’inquiétude. Puis tu diras aux gens du pays : “Voici les paroles du Seigneur DIEU : les habitants de Jérusalem qui sont restés dans le pays d’Israël mangeront leur pain dans l’inquiétude, ils boiront leur eau en tremblant de peur. En effet, leur pays va être détruit. Il ne restera plus rien, parce que ceux qui l’habitent l’ont rempli de violence. Les villes n’auront plus d’habitants, et le pays deviendra un désert. Alors vous saurez que le SEIGNEUR, c’est moi.” » Le SEIGNEUR m’a adressé sa parole : « Toi, l’homme, écoute ! Vous répétez ce proverbe au sujet d’Israël : “Le temps passe et aucune vision ne se réalise.” Pourquoi donc ? Eh bien, dis aux Israélites que moi, le Seigneur DIEU, je supprimerai l’habitude de dire ce proverbe. Personne ne le répétera plus en Israël. Dis-leur au contraire : “Voici le moment où toutes les visions vont se réaliser.” Il n’y aura plus de visions fausses ni de paroles trompeuses pour les Israélites. En effet, c’est moi le SEIGNEUR qui parle. Et ce que j’annonce va se réaliser bientôt. Oui, c’est pendant votre vie, bande de révoltés, que je réaliserai ce que j’ai dit. » Voilà ce que le Seigneur DIEU déclare. Le SEIGNEUR m’a encore adressé sa parole : « Toi, l’homme, écoute ! Les Israélites disent : “Les visions d’Ézékiel se réaliseront dans très longtemps. Ce prophète parle pour beaucoup plus tard.” Eh bien, dis-leur ceci de ma part : “Moi, le Seigneur DIEU, je réaliserai bientôt tout ce que j’ai annoncé.” » Voilà ce que le Seigneur DIEU déclare.

L’Eternel m’adressa la parole en ces termes : Fils d’homme, tu habites au milieu d’une communauté rebelle : ils ont des yeux pour voir, mais ils ne voient pas ; ils ont des oreilles pour entendre, mais ils n’entendent pas, car ce sont des rebelles. Fils d’homme, fais tes bagages comme pour partir en déportation, puis pars comme en déportation en plein jour sous leurs yeux. Que tout le monde te voie partir en exil de l’endroit où tu habites vers un autre lieu. Peut-être comprendront-ils qu’ils sont une communauté rebelle. Dépose ton baluchon d’exilé dehors, en plein jour, pour que tout le monde le voie. Le soir, tu sortiras sous leurs yeux, comme pour un départ en exil. Sous leurs yeux, tu creuseras un trou dans la muraille de la ville, et tu feras passer ton ballot par là. Sous leurs yeux, tu le chargeras sur ton épaule et tu l’emporteras dans la nuit noire ; tu te cacheras le visage en sorte que tu ne puisses pas voir le pays. Car je fais de toi un signe pour la communauté d’Israël. Je fis ce qui m’avait été ordonné : je sortis en plein jour mes affaires arrangées comme un bagage d’exilé ; et le soir, je creusai, à la main, un trou dans le mur, puis, dans la nuit noire, je les fis passer par là et je les chargeai sur l’épaule sous leurs yeux. Le lendemain matin, l’Eternel m’adressa la parole en ces termes : Fils d’homme, les Israélites, ces gens rebelles, ne t’ont-ils pas demandé : « Que fais-tu ? » Réponds-leur : « Voici ce que déclare le Seigneur, l’Eternel : Ce message concerne le prince qui est à Jérusalem et toute la communauté israélite qui se trouve à l’intérieur de cette ville. » Dis-leur : « Je suis pour vous un signe », car il leur sera fait selon ce que j’ai fait : ils iront en déportation, ils iront en exil. Le prince qui se trouve au milieu d’eux mettra son baluchon, en pleine nuit, sur son épaule et quittera la ville par un trou dans le mur que l’on aura percé pour le faire sortir. Il se cachera le visage pour qu’il ne voie pas le pays. J’étendrai mon filet sur lui et il sera pris dans mon piège, je le ferai partir pour Babylone dans le pays des Chaldéens, qu’il ne verra pas de ses yeux, et c’est là qu’il mourra. Je disperserai à tout vent tous les gens de son entourage, son personnel et tous ses bataillons, et je les poursuivrai avec l’épée. Et ils reconnaîtront que je suis l’Eternel quand je les aurai dispersés au milieu de peuples étrangers, quand je les aurai répandus dans différents pays. Mais je conserverai un petit nombre d’entre eux qui échapperont à l’épée, à la famine et à la peste, pour qu’ils racontent toutes leurs abominations au milieu des peuples chez qui ils iront. Et l’on reconnaîtra que je suis l’Eternel. L’Eternel m’adressa la parole et me dit : Fils d’homme, tu mangeras ton pain en tremblant, et tu boiras ton eau au milieu de l’angoisse et de l’agitation. Tu diras au peuple du pays : « Habitants de Jérusalem, voici ce que déclare le Seigneur, l’Eternel, contre le pays d’Israël : Ils mangeront leur pain au milieu de l’angoisse, et ils boiront leur eau dans la désolation, parce que le pays va être dévasté, privé de tous ses biens, à cause des actes de violence de tous ceux qui l’habitent. Les villes peuplées seront détruites, le pays sera dévasté, et vous reconnaîtrez que je suis l’Eternel. » L’Eternel m’adressa la parole et me dit : Fils d’homme, quel est donc le dicton qui a cours parmi vous au sujet du pays d’Israël : « Le temps se fait bien long et aucune vision ne s’accomplit » ? C’est pourquoi dis-leur donc : « Voici comment vous parle le Seigneur, l’Eternel : Je ferai taire ce dicton et il n’aura plus jamais cours en Israël. » Dis-leur donc : « Au contraire, voici : le temps s’approche où toutes les visions se réaliseront. Car il n’y aura plus de vision mensongère, ni de prédiction de complaisance, au milieu d’Israël. Car moi, l’Eternel, je dirai ce que j’ai à dire, et puis cela s’accomplira sans être encore différé. C’est de votre vivant, communauté rebelle, que je prononcerai cette parole, et que je l’accomplirai. C’est là ce que déclare le Seigneur, l’Eternel. » L’Eternel m’adressa la parole et me dit : Fils d’homme, la communauté d’Israël déclare à ton sujet : « La vision de cet homme concerne des jours très lointains, et ce qu’il prophétise est pour beaucoup plus tard. » C’est pourquoi dis-leur donc : « Voici ce que déclare le Seigneur, l’Eternel : Aucune des paroles que, moi, j’ai prononcées ne tardera à s’accomplir. C’est là ce que déclare le Seigneur, l’Eternel. »
