David praised the LORD in the presence of the whole assembly, saying, “Praise be to you, LORD, the God of our father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Yours, LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name. “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. We are foreigners and strangers in your sight, as were all our ancestors. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope. LORD our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your Holy Name comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you.

Lè sa a, David fè lwanj Bondye devan tout pèp la ki te reyini. Li di konsa: — Lwanj pou ou, Senyè a, Bondye Izrayèl, papa nou, depi tout tan ak pou tout tan! Senyè, ou gen pouvwa, ou gen kouray! Se pou ou tout lwanj. W'ap donminen sou tout bagay pou tout tan. Tou sa ki nan syèl la ak sou latè a se pou ou yo ye. Se ou menm Senyè ki sel wa, paske ou sèl chèf sou tout bagay. Se nan men ou tout richès ak tout byen sòti. Ou gouvènen tout bagay avèk fòs ponyèt ou ak pouvwa ou. Se ou menm ki bay tout moun pouvwa ak fòs. Kounyeya, Bondye nou, nou di ou mèsi. N'ap fè lwanj pou ou sitèlman ou gen pouvwa. Men, kisa m ye, kisa pèp mwen an ye menm, pou m ta kapab ofri ou tout bagay sa yo ak tout kè nou? Se nan men ou tout bagay sa yo sòti, se nan sa nou resevwa nan men ou n'ap ba ou. Senyè, ou konnen, devan ou se pase n'ap pase tankou moun k'ap vizite, menm jan ak tout zansèt nou yo. Lavi nou sou latè tankou yon nyaj k'ap pase. Wè pa wè fòk nou mouri. Senyè, Bondye nou, nou pare tout richès sa yo pou bati yon kay pou ou, ou menm ki yon Bondye apa. Men, se nan men ou yo tout yo sòti, se pou ou yo tout ye.

David remercie le SEIGNEUR en présence de toute l’assemblée en disant : « Louange à toi, depuis toujours et pour toujours, SEIGNEUR, Dieu de notre ancêtre Israël ! À toi, SEIGNEUR, la force et la puissance, l’honneur, la beauté et la grandeur ! Tout est à toi, dans le ciel et sur la terre. Tu es le roi, toi qui es au-dessus de tous les êtres. La richesse et l’honneur viennent de toi. C’est toi le maître de tout. Tu possèdes la force et la puissance. Grâce à toi, tout grandit et devient fort. Et maintenant, notre Dieu, nous te disons merci et nous chantons la louange de ton nom magnifique. Je ne suis rien, et mon peuple n’est rien. Nous ne sommes pas capables de t’offrir ces dons. Oui, tout vient de toi, et nous t’offrons seulement ce que tu nous as donné. Nous sommes devant toi des étrangers et des gens de passage, comme tous nos ancêtres. Notre vie sur terre est comme l’ombre, qui disparaît tout à coup. SEIGNEUR notre Dieu, nous avons préparé beaucoup de richesses pour construire un temple en ton honneur, toi qui es Dieu. Or, tout cela vient de toi et t’appartient.

David bénit l’Eternel devant toute l’assemblée en disant : Béni sois-tu à tout jamais, ╵ô Eternel, Dieu de notre ancêtre Israël ! A toi, Eternel, appartiennent ╵la grandeur, la puissance ╵et la magnificence, et la gloire et la majesté. Car tout ce qui est dans le ciel ╵et sur la terre ╵est à toi, Eternel. C’est à toi qu’appartient le règne, tu es le souverain ╵au-dessus de tout être. Et c’est de toi que viennent ╵la richesse et la gloire. Tu domines sur tout et dans ta main résident ╵la force et la puissance, tu détiens le pouvoir ╵d’élever qui tu veux ╵et de le rendre fort. C’est pourquoi, notre Dieu, ╵nous te louons, nous célébrons ta gloire. Car, qui donc suis-je, et qui donc est mon peuple pour avoir les moyens ╵de t’offrir de tels dons ? Tout cela vient de toi, et c’est de ta main même ╵que nous avons reçu ╵ce que nous te donnons. Nous sommes devant toi ╵comme des étrangers, des hôtes, ╵tout comme nos ancêtres.
