The Overcomer

DAY 4 OF 7

Overcoming through Obedient Stewardship

When Jesus speaks about authority, He does not begin with power. He begins with obedience. The promise of authority over nations is given to the one who “does My will to the end.” In God’s kingdom, authority is entrusted.

Many believers associate authority with titles, platforms, or visibility. But Jesus reframes authority as faithfulness over time. Authority grows out of alignment with God’s will. It is not a result of personal ambition. It is cultivated through daily obedience and perseverance when compromise would be easier.

Daniel’s life in exile models this truth. He was consistent long before he was influential. His authority in Babylon was not granted because he demanded it. His life mattered.

Jesus reminds His followers that all authority belongs to Him. When He commissions believers, He does not ask them to create authority, but to operate under His. Your influence in your family, workplace, church, or community is a stewardship.

Overcoming in this context means choosing faithfulness in your current assignment. God expands authority where obedience has already proven trustworthy.

Prayer:

Lord, align my desires with Your will. Teach me to steward influence with humility and faithfulness.

Reflection Question:

Where is God asking me to remain obedient, even if recognition has not yet followed?

About this Plan

The Overcomer

The final book of the Bible opens with personal letters from Jesus to ancient churches facing real pressures. In Revelation chapters 2 and 3, Christ speaks of correction and promise. Again and again, He addresses “the one who overcomes.” So, this plan invites you to rediscover what it means to overcome, through faithful endurance and daily obedience. Across these seven days, you will witness the diverse dimensions of God’s heart as He encourages the weary, honours the faithful, provides for the dependent, gives authority to the obedient, cleanses the repentant, and shares reign with Christ Himself.
