• In verses 14-23, how did Jesus describe the events to come, and how did Jesus advise us to respond to the miseries and false prophets of our time?
• What hope can we hold on to in the midst of dark times, as revealed in verse 27?
• What did Jesus promise us when we see prophesied events taking place in the world today, and what must we do in response (verses 28-33)?

Pray and Apply:

Reread Mark 13:14-37. During your second reading, highlight every instruction Jesus gives to His disciples (e.g. “you must be praying,” “keep watch,” etc.) Reflect on these instructions and how you can put them into practice in your everyday life. Take a few minutes to pray in response to the turmoil and brokenness that exists in the world around you––from global and national events, to those in your own communities and neighborhoods in need of God’s salvation and restoration.
