The Holy Spirit

DAY 1 OF 3

The Holy Spirit Is A Person

What is the definition of a person?

In my opinion, the best definition of a person is what Thomas Aquinas said: “The person is an individual substance of a rational nature."

What are the main characteristics of a person?

There are at least three main important characteristics of a person: Free will, Mind, Emotions.

In the Bible, we read about the Holy Spirit. How would you describe the Holy Spirit? Through simple reading of passages in the scriptures we can know that the Holy Spirit has and exhibits these three characteristics. The Holy Spirit has Absolute free will because he is God, and he has a mind (the Mind of God), and he has emotions.

The Holy Spirit is Not a power, The Holy Spirit is not energy or some force, The Holy Spirit is not an illumination.

The Holy Spirit, blessed be he forever, is A DIVINE PERSON, Co-equal, Co-eternal with the Father and the Son.

Today, while you are reading this devotion, I encourage you to know The Holy Spirit in a personal, intimate way through what he revealed about himself in the scriptures, knowing that The Holy Spirit is GOD WITH YOU, that he is the one who was called to be close to you and walk with you.

Holy Spirit, I want to know you. I want to be your intimate friend who walks with you through the journey of my life. Please help me.
