Lordship Over Opinion

Alignment begins with one question: Who leads my life—Jesus or me? Most men want God’s blessing but resist God’s lordship. They want God to agree with their plans rather than submitting fully to His. But alignment demands authority, and authority begins with Lordship—Jesus as King, not consultant.

Too many men live by opinion—their own opinion, other people’s opinion, or culture’s opinion. But opinions shift. Truth doesn’t. When Jesus is Lord, your decisions are no longer based on feelings, pressure, or convenience. They flow from obedience. When a man settles the Lordship issue, everything else comes into alignment—identity, purpose, decisions, and direction.

Lordship is not just a belief—it is a position of surrender. When soldiers align under a commanding officer, their effectiveness multiplies. When they break rank, chaos follows. That’s how many men live spiritually—disordered, frustrated, and ineffective—not because they lack passion, but because they lack alignment under Christ.

Look at Joshua. Before leading Israel into the Promised Land, he encountered the Commander of the Lord’s army (Joshua 5:13–15). Joshua asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?” The Lord replied, “Neither, but as commander of the army of theLord I have now come.” In other words—I don’t join your side. You join Mine. Joshua fell to the ground and aligned under God’s authority. Only then did victory begin.

If Jesus is not Lord over every area, He is not Lord at all. Lord over Sundays but not business? Misalignment. Lord over your Bible but not your habits? Misalignment. Lord over belief but not behavior? Misalignment. Alignment begins where excuses end—“Not my will, but Yours be done.”

The Brave Truth: Alignment begins when a man stops negotiating with God and starts obeying Him.

Reflection Question: Which area of my life have I not fully placed under the Lordship of Jesus?
