The Cross of Christનમૂનો

Do It Again, Lord
In the late 1800s, a young man named John McNeill began gathering ministers across Melbourne to pray for what they called“the big revival.”They met every Sunday afternoon, interceding for two hours at a time. Their passion spread beyond denominations until more than 700 pastors gathered to seek God together. From those prayers, a movement grew - 2,100 homes meeting regularly, 15,000 people praying for the Spirit to move. When evangelist R.A. Torry came to Melbourne in 1902, the groundwork was ready. Churches were united, streets filled, and hearts awakened. Families turned to Christ, theatres emptied, and even police reported peace in their districts.
The Invitation to Our Generation
That revival didn’t begin with strategy or spectacle; it began with honest prayer. Ordinary people opened their homes and believed that God could renew a nation. Their faith reminds us that revival is not a myth from a holier age - it is the natural result of a praying, humble, hungry people. The same Spirit who moved then is still moving now. Around the world, young hearts are awakening, families are being restored, and communities are rediscovering faith. But revival doesn’t rest on nostalgia; it leans on obedience. The question is no longer can God move again, but will we make room for Him to?
Revival always begins small—one honest confession, one whispered prayer, one table where faith is kindled again. God works through lives that choose humility over pride, service over self, and hunger over comfort. We cannot schedule His presence, but we can create a life that welcomes it. When the church becomes a people who prefer His will to their own, who carry faith through fatigue and unity through difference, heaven responds. History is waiting for hearts that pray the same prayer McNeill’s band once prayed: “Lord, we want the big revival.”
Our Prayer for This Day
We stand in the same in-between, between what God has done and what He will do again. The soil is ready, and the Spirit is stirring. Our role is simple - to be the honest, humble, hungry people through whom God can breathe. If He could turn a divided colony into a praying nation, He can do the same in our day. So we set the table, open our hands, and lift our eyes to heaven. We echo the cry that has echoed through generations: Come, Holy Spirit. Do it again in our homes, our churches, our schools, our cities. Start with us.
