Faith, Logic and Presumptionનમૂનો

Most times, we think we’re walking by faith, but what’s really going on is a tag team match between faith, logic, and presumption. Faith says, “God said it, I believe it.” Logic says, “Let’s think about this well first.” Presumption says, “I’m sure God will do it because… well, He just has to.” Logic is the side of us that loves sense… it wants to calculate, analyze, and be sure before moving.
Presumption is that overconfident cousin of faith that acts without a word from God, then blames Him when things crash. Faith, on the other hand, listens, obeys, and rests in what God said, even when it doesn’t make sense.
When Peter saw Jesus walking on water, logic whispered, “Men don’t float.” Presumption would’ve said, “If Jesus can do it, I can too,” and jumped in without asking. But Peter asked for a word; ‘Lord, if it’s You, tell me to come.’ That’s faith. He waited for instruction before action. Many believers sink not because God failed, but because they moved on feelings, not on faith. Sometimes, what we call “stepping out in faith” is actually “jumping out in presumption.” Faith stands on God’s Word; presumption stands on our wish.
Logic isn’t evil; it helps us think straight. But logic must never lead where God hasn’t spoken. It’s like using common sense in a supernatural journey, it works until you hit a Red Sea. God wants you wise, not worried; thoughtful, not doubtful. So before you act, ask: “Did God say this, or am I assuming He did?” Faith starts where logic ends and presumption bows.
Prayer and Confession
Father, help me to recognize when I’m reasoning too much or assuming too fast. I declare that, I don’t move by guesswork; I move by God’s Word. My faith is rooted in truth, not feelings. I refuse to be ruled by logic or deceived by presumption. Amen!
