Becoming Strong and Sturdy Like an Oak of Righteousness

DAY 7 OF 7

Day 7: Teaching

As Jesus teaches us through the word, we need to become teachers and witnesses.

Introduction:

As followers of Christ, we are constantly being taught and shaped by His Word. This learning process is not just for personal growth, but also to equip us to become teachers and witnesses, spreading His love and truth to others. Today, let's focus on how Jesus teaches us through scripture and how we are called to live as His disciples. Being a disciple means living out the “great commission”. When people see you and interact with you, the immovable roots that have been established in the God of the universe will make your presence like an “oak of righteousness so that he may be glorified.” How you became an “oak of righteousness” is the strongest testimony you can share. God will do the rest!

Jesus' teachings are foundational to our faith. Through His Word, we learn about God's love, His plan for salvation, and how we should live our lives. This learning is not passive; it requires us to actively engage with scripture, to study, meditate, and apply what we learn. As we delve into the Bible, we discover the heart of God and understand His will more clearly.

This teaching can take many forms. It might be through sharing our testimony, leading a Bible study, mentoring someone in their faith, or simply living a life that reflects Christ's love and truth. Every interaction, every decision, every word we speak can be an opportunity to share the teachings of Jesus. When we are filled with His Word, it naturally overflows into our lives and into the lives of those around us.

As we learn from Jesus, we also grow in our ability to discern His voice and direction. The more we immerse ourselves in scripture, the more we understand His character and His ways. This discernment guides us in our daily lives, helping us to make choices that honor God and advance His kingdom.

Daily Reflection Questions:

  1. How are you currently engaging with scripture to learn from Jesus?
  2. In what ways do you feel called to teach and witness to others about Jesus?
  3. What practical steps can you take to become more equipped to share God's Word?
  4. How can you ensure your life reflects the teachings of Jesus in your daily interactions?

Prayer:

Father, thank You for choosing me and appointing me to bear fruit. Help me to be a diligent student of Your Word, that I may learn from Jesus and understand Your will for my life. Fill me with Your wisdom and give me opportunities to teach and witness to others. Guide me to live a life that reflects Your love and truth, and use me to bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' name, Amen.
