Becoming Love: If We Start at Finish, Where Do We End? (Part 3)

DAY 1 OF 5

Day Eleven: Healing the Paralytic Man

In Mark 2, we meet a group of friends who tore through the roof to bring their paralytic friend to be healed by Jesus. Isn’t their faith moving!

Jesus, Himself, was moved by this: “And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, ‘Son, your sins are forgiven’” (verse 5). Jesus did not just forgive the man. In verse 11, He tells the paralytic to get up and go with complete healing.

Let’s look at two things as we explore this massive story.

Love makes a way - the paralytic’s friends did not allow a lack of access to deter them. Instead, love lifted their eyes to the roof and made a way. This was not just a showstopper. Love, with a sprinkle of faith, made a way for the paralytic to find healing.

Also, love heals emotionally and physically. We see love in Jesus, healing the paralytic emotionally through the words: “Your sins are forgiven”. We all know the kind of healing and relief that forgiveness brings. We also see love healing the paralytic physically when Jesus told him to get up and go.

To whom is the love of God pulling you? Do you know someone who needs healing? Take a step of faith in love and reach out to them.

About this Plan

Becoming Love: If We Start at Finish, Where Do We End? (Part 3)

The Christian life is not only about knowing truth but about becoming truth in action—people through whom the love of God is made visible in our world. This journey begins as we receive God’s love personally, allowing His Spirit to shape our hearts, renew our minds, and align our lives with His purpose. In this study, we will discover what it means to become love. Note: This is Part 3 of a 4-part reading plan.
