DAY 6 OF 7

I’ve been through a period of my life when I just did not feel like waking up, or getting out of bed. I was going through depression and pain and I was feeling very sorry for myself. All I could see was what people had done to me and I did not feel it was right or fair.

I’m sure that you have also felt unfairly treated at some point in your life. Maybe it was someone who betrayed you or took advantage of you or even made you feel unloved. When we look at what we lost there is much cause for anguish. It's when we start to look beyond ourselves that we gain perspective.

In spite of my feelings, God’s love and comfort woke me up each morning. It’s when I began to shift my attention from me to Him that I began to emerge from my depression.

Each morning God displays His love for us by giving us breath and strength and mercy and goodness. God has been faithful to us, even when we have not been faithful to Him.

He is generous with His love.

When I started to look at His love and experience His compassion I began to throw off the mist of depression.

Rather than look at what people have done to us, let's look at what the Lord does for us. He is always there to comfort and guide us through even the most difficult times of our lives

Turn your attention to God’s love and presence. Rather than focus on what you have lost, look at much you gain when you experience His love. In which area of your life do you need His love the most today?

Take a few minutes to pause, meditate and pray.
