Guilt Be Gone

I can’t hear it too many times. It’s always good news. Father, I just can’t get over how you have banished my sin, my shame, and my guilt. I am free from every weight that threatens to pull me down. The accusations of the devil now fall flat to the floor. When you look at me, you don’t see my stained and withered soul; instead, you see the beauty of Jesus. But it’s even better still—you are really and truly making me just like him. Your Spirit is feeding my spirit to transform me. Like a caterpillar into a butterfly, I am a new creation.

Father, help me to live in this truth—to marinate in it—day in and day out, until it shapes my identity. Rather than listening to this world and the opinions of other people, I have your favor to remind me that I am not the man I once was. You have been extravagant in your grace. For me to walk in defeat would be an insult to your glory.
