Pillars of Prosperity: Divine Favour

For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield. Psalms 5:12 NKJV

Life is not fair. But thank God, favour ain’t fair either! You can be the most qualified, the most prepared, and still be ignored. Or you can walk into a room, and God’s favour speaks for you louder than your credentials ever could. Divine favour is like God’s special stamp that says, “Bless this one in a way that can’t be explained.”

The Bible is full of favour stories. Esther, a young Jewish girl, became queen, not because of her fashion sense but because of favour (Esther 2:15–17). Joseph, despite being sold, jailed, and forgotten, rose to become Prime Minister in Egypt—why? Favour (Genesis 39:21). David was the youngest, overlooked brother, yet favour picked him out from the sheepfold to the palace. When God favours you, rules can be rewritten, protocols bypassed, and closed doors start opening like they owe you something.

But favour is not a free pass to laziness. It doesn’t cancel the need for responsibility; it only accelerates your results. While others labour for years, God’s favour can do in one moment what hard work can’t do in a decade. Psalm 44:3 puts it perfectly:“They got not the land in possession by their own sword… but because You favoured them.”

So while we keep working diligently and adding value, let’s also boldly pray for and expect divine favour. Because when that favour lands on your life, doors open on their own accord. They will open by force. Today, declare that divine favour is speaking for you in places your feet haven’t even reached yet!

Prayer and Confession
I walk in divine favour! Favour opens doors for me. Favour speaks for me in rooms where I’m not present. I am preferred, accepted, and lifted because of God’s favour. Every day, divine favour sets me apart for success. Amen!
