Faithful Now, Legacy Beyondનમૂનો

Tithing and Faith
In the first part, we saw that tithing is about lordship, obedience, worship, and surrender. These are the foundations. But tithing is also about living in the overflow of grace, treasuring God above all else, positioning life to receive His blessing, and pursuing faithfulness.
This second part explores four further reasons why tithing matters.
5. Because Generosity Overflows from Grace
Generosity is not driven by what we have, but by what we have received.
The Macedonian churches gave despite poverty because they had tasted God’s grace. Their perspective was not one of lack but of abundance in Christ. They longed for others to encounter what they had already received.
When grace fills a life, generosity becomes its natural overflow. Tithing is not about scraping together enough to give—it is about joyfully releasing what belongs to God because His grace has already supplied more than enough.
6. Because God Is My True Treasure
A.W. Tozer once wrote: “The man who has God for his treasure has all things in one.”
When God Himself is the prize, no other possession can compare. Tithing serves as a reminder that God is the ultimate treasure. It is a way of loosening the grip of materialism and declaring: “My joy and satisfaction are in You, not in wealth.”
Generosity becomes freedom—freedom from the illusion that happiness lies in having more, and freedom to enjoy possessions as blessings rather than idols.
7. Because Positioning Matters
Position matters. Just as a fielder in cricket stands in the right place to catch the ball, believers must position themselves to encounter God.
Malachi 3 shows how God’s people had drifted by withholding generosity. Through the prophet, God invited them back. Returning through tithes and offerings repositioned them for blessing, protection, and the promise: “Yours will be a delightful land.”
While God can work anywhere and anytime, tithing is one way of stepping into the position where His blessing and protection are poured out.
8. Because Faithfulness Is the Goal
In Matthew 25, the master commends his servant: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
This is the ultimate goal of stewardship: to be found faithful. It is not about how much is given but about what is done with what has been entrusted.
God’s kingdom does not require wealth—it requires faithfulness. Tithing is a tangible way of demonstrating that trust. Expansion and growth come not from resources alone, but from people willing to surrender fully and use faithfully what God has placed in their hands.
Tithing is about living in the overflow of grace, treasuring God above all else, positioning life for His blessing, and pursuing faithfulness.
Together with the first four reasons, these truths make clear that tithing is not merely financial. It is a declaration of lordship, obedience, worship, surrender, grace, treasure, positioning, and faithfulness.
Tithing is not a transaction—it is transformation. It shapes the heart, reorients priorities, and positions life for God’s presence both now and into eternity.
