Words of Comfort, Hope and Joyનમૂનો

The Hebrew word “trust” implies a person throwing themselves to the ground, lying flat as a symbol of complete surrender. This is not about admitting defeat but about believing that the person we prostrate ourselves before is capable of helping us. Therefore, this word signifies “confidence,” as understood by the writer of the Book of Job: “Behold, if the river is turbulent, he is not frightened; he is confident though Jordan rushes against his mouth” (Job 40:23, ESV). Some English translations may render it as “feel secure.”
The Psalmist affirms that there is no situation in which we should not trust the Lord. He can handle everything we can and cannot do. He is all-powerful. Trust involves surrendering our lives and acknowledging this truth.
The Psalmist speaks about falling before the Lord; trusting in the Lord involves pouring out everything that burdens our hearts before him. Sometimes, our hearts are like heavy water jars that we carry around. The Lord invites us to lighten our loads by pouring out our heavy concerns as we fall prostrate in his presence.
Adversities in life, such as sin, guilt, and shame, can hinder our journey on earth. The writer of Hebrews urged his readers, burdened by persecution, fear, and self-doubt, to cast off that weight and focus their gaze on Christ, the Lord.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:1—2, ESV).
Remain confident in the Lord's power and grace, trusting all your concerns to him as Paul did: “I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he can guard until that day what has been entrusted to me.”
Today, choose to fall before the Lord in complete surrender, casting all your burdens, fears, and doubts into his care. Believe in his power to carry what you cannot and rest in the confidence that he will guard and guide you.
