Integrity in the Marketplace

Proverbs 11:3 - "The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them." (ESV)

In business, pressure can tempt you to cut corners, shade the truth, or prioritize profits over people. But God calls His people to a different standard. Integrity should guide every deal, every decision, every word.

Integrity builds trust. It creates consistency. It means doing the right thing, even when it costs you a sale, a promotion, or your reputation among peers. Your witness at work often speaks louder than your words.

Proverbs warns that crookedness—dishonesty and manipulation—leads to destruction. It may bring short-term success, but rots your soul and ruins credibility.

The marketplace needs men of integrity who keep their word, treat employees and clients respectfully, and lead with fairness and humility. When you walk in integrity, you reflect the character of God in a world desperate for it.

Ask God to search your heart today. Are there areas where you've compromised? Are there places where truth needs to replace convenience? Surrender those. Let integrity guide you, not culture.

Identify one way to strengthen integrity in your work and follow through this week, even if it's costly or unnoticed.

Prayer:

God, make me a man of integrity in every area of life. Help me lead and work with honesty, humility, and consistency. Let my life reflect You, even in the small decisions. Amen.
