Yom Kippur - the Perfect Atonement: The Messiah's Sacrificeનમૂનો

The Sabbath of Sabbaths
Yom Kippur is called the "Sabbath of Sabbaths" in the Torah (Pentateuch). It is a day of total rest from all activities, a day of complete quietness and of "afflicting the soul." This cessation of all works points to a deeper spiritual rest.
The Messiah, Jesus, invites everyone to find true rest: "Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." The rest that Jesus offers is a rest from the burden of sin, the law, and the attempt to achieve God's favor through works. The cross of the Messiah is our true Sabbath of Sabbaths, where the work of redemption was finalized once and for all.
Personal Application: Do you still feel burdened by your own works to be saved? The call of Jesus is for you to rest in His finished work on the cross. Receive the rest of God for your soul today.
Call to Intercession: Pray that the Jewish people, who observe Yom Kippur with fasting and affliction of the soul, will understand that atonement is complete and that rest for their souls is found only in Jesus. Pray that the Holy Spirit will lead them to an encounter with the Messiah who has already paid the final price for their sins and ours.
