Praying for Our Neighboursનમૂનો

The people of Israel were in a difficult situation and queen Esther asked them to pray and fast while she prepared herself to speak with the king. This could cost Esther her life as the Persian law said that no one could approach the king without his invitation. Queen Esther was courageous, and God blessed her with favour from the king. Haman wanted to destroy all the Israelite people, but God heard their prayers and saved them. Jewish families still celebrate this at the festival of Purim.
Discuss:
• What challenges do you see in your community?
• How can you pray for these challenges?
Prayer:
Get an empty jar or box. Decorate it in a way you like. Then, write down on small papers (groups of) people in your community you can pray for (for example, the names of your teachers, your pastor and his family, your friends, and community leaders). Put them in the jar, take one paper a day, and pray for these people as a family.
About this Plan

'Praying for our neighbours' is a plan to help children and families pray for their neighbours near and far, and to be a neighbour to those around them. We are so excited that you have chosen this plan to pray with your children and to explore what it means to be a neighbour. We would like to challenge you not only to read this, but to take intentional steps towards application. Before you start, why not invite another family to join you in this journey so you can share your experiences.
