Worship More and Worry Less: 30 Days of Praiseનમૂનો

“Because of the LORD’S great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

As I type, I’m enjoying a cinnamon Jolly Rancher. It’s bringing back memories of my third pregnancy. These cinnamon candies calmed my morning (all day) sickness. They were an answer to prayer–one I wished I had with the other two babies.

Why am I writing about pregnancy? Well, the definition for the Hebrew word translated as “compassion” in Lamentations paints a picture of a mother’s womb. It’s beautiful:

Racham: compassion (in the plural); by extension, the womb (as cherishing the fetus); by implication, a maiden: —bowels, compassion, damsel, tender love, (great, tender) mercy, pity womb. (Blueletterbible)

It’s amazing to think that God’s compassion surrounds us, nourishes us, and protects like that of a womb. The scripture promises that His protecting, surrounding compassion keeps on giving with every sunrise. It never expires or ceases. Some of us probably need to climb out of bed before dawn and watch the sun rise. It’s not missed a day yet–a visual promise of His loving-kindness and life-giving compassion.
