Coming to Life: 30-Day Devotionalનમૂનો

The Wilderness
The wilderness was both a place of testing and of provision. Israel, freshly delivered from Egypt, quickly discovered that freedom was not the same as faith. They grumbled for food and water, doubting whether the God who parted the sea could sustain them in the desert.
Yet God remained faithful. He gave them manna each morning, appearing with the dew. He gave them water from a rock. These daily provisions taught Israel dependence: “man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.” The wilderness was not wasted; it was where God formed His people’s trust.
Sadly, many hardened their hearts. Psalm 95 warns against the rebellion of Meribah, where Israel tested God instead of trusting Him. Their unbelief kept a generation from entering the Promised Land. The wilderness became a cautionary tale: faith must endure even in barren seasons.
Jesus reinterpreted the wilderness story in Himself. In John 6, after feeding the five thousand, He declared, “I am the bread of life.” The manna was a sign pointing to Him. Just as God fed His people daily in the desert, so Jesus is the true bread who gives eternal life. To believe in Him is to never hunger again.
The writer of Hebrews presses this lesson home: “Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart.” The wilderness is not only Israel’s story but ours. We all walk through dry seasons where faith is tested. The question is whether we will harden our hearts or trust in the One who provides.
The good news is that Jesus has walked the wilderness before us. Tempted in the desert, He quoted Deuteronomy: “Man does not live by bread alone.” He trusted the Father perfectly, where Israel failed. And now, He sustains us in our wilderness with Himself — the living bread.

Prayer
Lord, thank You that You do not abandon me in the wilderness. Thank You for Your daily provision and for Jesus, the Bread of Life, who satisfies every hunger. Guard my heart from unbelief, and help me trust You in every season. Teach me to live not by bread alone but by Your Word. Amen.
