The Holy Spirit: God With You

DAY 3 OF 3

Have you ever been in a crowd, maybe at school or a game, and felt like just another face in a sea of faces? Even when you’re with people you feel comfortable around, even with your best friend who knows you better than anyone, there are still parts of you that feel hidden or hard to explain. It takes time and trust for anyone to really know what’s going on inside.

This week, we have talked about how the Holy Spirit is God’s free gift. You don’t have to strive or perform to earn his presence. He is with you everywhere you go, even when you don’t feel him. But today’s reading goes even deeper.

The Holy Spirit is not just with you—he knows you. Psalm 139 says he understands your thoughts, your struggles, your hopes, and your fears, even the things you can’t put into words. He sees every part of you and loves you completely.

Sometimes pain, shame, or failure can make you feel like you have pushed the Holy Spirit away. Maybe you think your struggles, doubts, or mistakes are too much for him to handle. But the Bible says you can’t outrun his presence, not even in your darkest moments or deepest regrets. He knows your greatest wins and your biggest failures. He knows every hurt in your heart, even the places you keep hidden from everyone else. And he chooses to still be close to you. None of it scares him away. You don’t have to hide any part of your story from the Holy Spirit. Bring it all to him, and let him remind you that you are fully known and deeply loved.

Reflection and Prayer

Read Psalm 139:1-12 again, slowly. Thank God for knowing you completely and never leaving you. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you rest in his love and presence today.

Holy Spirit, thank you for knowing me and never leaving me. Help me remember that I am never alone. Amen.
