Fear Not! A Guide to Living a Fearless Lifeનમૂનો

The Lord Takes Care of Them That’s a Believin
“In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you. Indeed, they shall surely assemble, but not because of Me. Whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake” (Isaiah 54:14-15, NKJV).
This chapter is speaking about the future glory of Zion; it will be restored. Thankfully for each of us, God is in the restoration business. The intermediary that brought God and mankind back together is Jesus. Jesus established the bridge where sinners can stand righteous (in right standing) before a holy God because He atoned (paid the price) for our sins.
When you become an heir of God through Jesus, you get some special privileges that come along with being righteous. In Isaiah, just a few verses later, God says, “‘No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,’ says the Lord” (Isaiah 54:17, NKJV). As a believer and an heir, you have this special heritage.
When you are in right standing before God, you do not need to live in fear. God says terror “shall not come near you.” As believers, we need to know our heritage and what our inheritance is. Membership in God’s family has many rewards, and none bigger than the protection God affords His family. “If you make the Most High your dwelling — even the LORD, who is my refuge — then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent” (Psalm 91:9-10, NIV).
In the movie Sergeant York, there was a great exchange between Mother York and Gracie (Alvin’s fiancée).
Gracie: “I’m a feared for Alvin.”
Mother York: “Tain’t right for us to be a feared Gracie. Alvin’s in good hands. The Lord takes care of them that’s a believin in Him.”
Mother York got it. God does take care of them, that’s a believin in Him.
If you are a believer, I challenge you to research your heritage and do it thoroughly. Dig deeply into God’s first and last will and testament. See what He has promised you in His word and then use it. God tells us, “My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6, NIV). Are you a believin in God’s promises?
Prayer: Jesus, there was a father who had a sick child who said to You, “Lord, I believe, help my unbelief” (Mark 9:24, NKJV). I think I am much like this man, Lord. I believe You, but there is still unbelief on stuff I don’t fully understand or grasp. May I thoroughly research my heritage, but also grant me a better understanding Jesus of who You are. In Jesus name, amen.
