Lessons From the Story of Gideonનમૂનો

What do people call you?
How do you want to be seen?
If we’re lucky, people define us by our greatest achievements or best qualities.
Depending on the setting, I’m often introduced as:
🎤“A well-known Hindi worship leader”
🎶“The guy who wrote ‘Hum Gaye Hosanna’”
❤️“Jenny’s husband”
👶“Zac’s dad”
But sometimes, society chooses to define us by our biggest struggle, worst failure, or least appealing trait instead.
You’ve probably heard labels like:
- “The short guy”
- “The girl who got fired”
- “That loud child”
God chooses a different approach altogether. God doesn’t look at our past or present but sees us through the lens of our potential.
When God called Gideon, the very first thing He said was:
“The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.” – Judges 6:12 NIV
At that point in the story, Gideon was far from being a mighty warrior (yet). His mind was filled with doubts and fears. He was so afraid of his own people that he executed the Lord’s command to cut down the town’s idols in the middle of the night, secretly, when no one was watching. That does not give mighty warrior vibes!
And yet, that is how God sees him: as the mighty warrior he is meant to be.
The same applies to you, friend; when God looks at you, He does not see your sins, flaws, or failures but sees you as a perfect creation, His own image! You are holy and perfect in His eyes!
But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in His sight, without blemish and free from accusation. – Colossians 1:22 NIV
I challenge you today to see yourself as God sees you—full of purpose, value, and potential.
Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
