Jesus Is…The Great I Amનમૂનો

Day 4 - Jesus is…the Way, the Truth, the Life, and the True Vine.

John 15:1-17 and John 14:1-14 (ESV)

Devotional: In John 14:6 (ESV), Jesus makes one of His most defining statements: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." These words of Jesus carry significant weight. Jesus does not just show us the path to salvation; He is the path. He is not only revealing truth; He is truth itself. He does not just offer a better life, He is life. This declaration reveals both the beauty and boldness of Jesus. He is the only way to God the Father. Jesus may sound exclusive when He says this, and that is true, but it also could not be more exclusive. Anyone is invited to come to Him. No matter your past, your sins, or your history, you are welcome to come to Him. But the invitation is clear: there is no other way to eternal life except through trusting in Jesus Christ alone. Jesus emphasizes this truth further in John 15:1 (ESV), where He declares, "I am the true vine and my Father is the vinedresser." Jesus then takes it a step further in verse 5 when He says, "I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." Just as a branch cannot survive without the vine, we cannot survive without Christ. When we abide in Him, His life flows through us, and we produce the fruit of the Spirit. Abiding means resting in Him, trusting in Him, and letting His life flow through us. This connection to Jesus is reflected not only in what we believe but also in the fruit our lives produce. Apart from Jesus, we can do nothing; in Jesus, we have everything we need. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. He is the true vine.

Prayer: Jesus, help us continue to abide in You. You are the way, the truth, and the light. In this crazy world, help me find rest in You. I want to bear fruit for You. As I abide in You, transform me.
