Day 3 - Jesus is…Alpha – Omega.

Revelation 1:8 (ESV)

Devotional: From the beginning of the cosmos, Jesus was there. These are the first words Jesus says to John in the Book of Revelation. Alpha is the 1st letter of the Greek alphabet, and Omega is the last. God is saying that He is the beginning and the end. He is the creator of the world, and He will be coming back in triumph at the end of the world. This passage shows us how much is in God's hands. Therefore, it shows us how little we have in ours. God has been revealing Himself throughout history, culminating in the person of Jesus. Most would think Christianity has reason to be extinct, yet it has never been more alive. Why? Because He is the Alpha and the Omega. He is timeless (which we will learn more about in the coming weeks!). He is working throughout history. He is working in the future. The question is, do you trust that He is working in and around you today? Do we say we trust God with our eternal salvation yet fail to trust Him with tomorrow? God being timeless proves that He is a God worth trusting. Today, let us let go of the little control we think we have and throw it all into the hands of the Alpha and the Omega.

Prayer: Jesus, You are a God of perfect timing. My brain cannot even fathom the reality of Your timelessness. Hold me and remind me of Your perfect timing when I doubt.
