Break Free for Good: Beyond Quick Fixes to Real Freedom (Part 3)નમૂનો

As we conclude this journey, here are four essential next steps to maintain your freedom:
Step 1: If you haven't already, identify your cobweb and locate your spider.
After a sermon on this topic, a man once told me, "My wife and I identified the spider in my life. We found the thing I continue to struggle with and make promises about. I don't have a work problem; I have a spider problem."
This man had believed he was unworthy after failing in a previous venture. Every day, he was trying to prove his worthiness, hurting his marriage and his kids. He realized, "I've been trying to figure out how to work fewer hours when the real issue isn't the hours I work—it's the lies I've believed."
Step 2: Put on the armor of God daily (see Ephesians 6:10-18)
Remember every single day that you're not fighting in your own strength. You're fighting in God's strength, tapping into His power and might. From your toes to your head, you need spiritual protection for this spiritual battle.
Step 3: Ask a friend to partner with you and walk through this process together. (Encourage them to read the “Beyond Quick Fixes to Real Freedom” series here on YouVersion with you.)
This step is crucial because we're designed to live in a community.
In 1 Peter 5, Peter describes Satan as a roaring lion. Lions are smart—they rarely attack herds; they often attack weak and isolated animals. If you stay with the herd, you're safe. If you isolate yourself, you're vulnerable.
Many of us want community but are afraid of commitment or getting hurt. Consider the stakes. The danger of being in community is getting hurt, but the danger of not being in community is getting taken out by the enemy! You have to decide which risk is greater.
Step 4: Build a list of verses that replace the lies you once agreed with, then memorize them.
Write them on cards, put them on your mirror and in your car, and make them your phone's lock screen. Play them aloud through your Bible app every morning. Begin memorizing these verses so that when lies come, you can immediately respond with truth.
If you're in a small group with other followers of Jesus, share the spider you discovered and encourage others to start killing their spiders. This is powerful work to do together!
Remember, most of us have more than one spider. This process isn't a one-time event—it's a way of life. As you grow and face new challenges, you may discover new lies you've agreed with. But now you have the tools to fight back.
Let me leave you with this truth: your spider doesn't have to define you forever. God wants to replace those lies with His truth, but you must be willing to acknowledge what you've been believing and surrender it to Him.
If you don't kill the spider, you will never fully live the life Jesus died for you to live. You'll give up along the way, fall short, and never enter into everything He died to make possible for you.
But when you kill your spider through God's power, you step into the abundant life Jesus promised. You experience the freedom He purchased through His death on the cross. You become who He created you to be.
Don't settle for one more day. Your freedom is worth fighting for.
