Jesus' Invitationsનમૂનો

The cost of commitment
I sometimes wonder what Jesus would say to me if I was able to run up to Him and ask, ‘How might I be sure of gaining eternal life?’
I know He would look at me with love, and then what?
I hope in that look of love I would understand the relationship I’m invited into with God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit), and that as I seek that place of love, everything else would take its place of insignificance in comparison.
The art of living is a fine weaving as we learn the deeper wisdom of what to let go of and what to hold onto, and the timing of each. For this man, who ran with passion to Jesus, the cost of letting go of his wealth seemed too much. He chose to hold onto possessions instead of recognising the joy of letting go to help others.
What is it that you’re holding that seems more important than a friendship with Jesus? A need to be liked by others? A way of living that you deep down know is not God’s first best for you? Or perhaps you just think you’re better than the mix of people you know who call themselves Christians.
Sometimes it takes us a while to realise the things we are holding onto so tightly are not really helping us. Jesus is always there to meet us eye to eye, to look upon us with love, and if we ask, He will help us let go and find a new way to live.
