Radically Restored—to Oneness With Another

DAY 5 OF 5

Day 5: Practicing ‘One Another’ Living

The phrase ‘one another’ occurs 100 times in the New Testament, with 59 of those being specific commands about how we should treat each other. The danger we face as 21st-century Christians is that we see these as a list of dos and don’ts. However, the writers were Jewish and understood righteousness as being about right relationships before right standing. When we practice ‘one another’ living, we aren’t just obeying commands; we are reflecting God’s design for relationships, experiencing His love, and showing it to the world.—Peter McHugh

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

• Which one another command speaks most to your current season of life?

• What practical action can you take to foster loving relationships in your daily walk?

About this Plan

Radically Restored—to Oneness With Another

As followers of Jesus, we are called to advance God's Kingdom by trusting in Him and living in loving, flourishing community. This begins individually and grows collectively as we follow Jesus. Our love for one another, especially for those we disagree with or consider enemies, marks us as His disciples. In Radically Restored to Oneness with One Another, author and pastor Peter McHugh explores the deep biblical call to unity, revealing how central our pursuit of oneness is to life with Jesus.
