Day 5: Battling Doubt
Believing in the Power of Prayer
Obstacle: Doubt
Scripture:
Matthew 7:7 (NIV) - "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."
Devotional:
Doubt can be a powerful obstacle to prayer. We may question whether God hears us, whether our prayers make a difference, or whether we are worthy to approach Him. But Matthew 7:7 reminds us to ask, seek, and knock. God promises to answer those who earnestly seek Him. When doubt creeps in, remember God's promises and choose to believe in His faithfulness.
Reflection:
"What doubts or uncertainties do I have about prayer?"
Action: Write down your doubts about prayer. Then, find scriptures that address those doubts. Meditate on these scriptures and ask God to help you believe in His power and faithfulness. Start small, pray about something specific and simple, and then watch to see how God answers.
