Engaging in God’s Heart for the Nations: 30-Day Devotionalનમૂનો

Out of Sight, on the Mind – Day 14
Larson Hicks, OMS Human Resources
Hebrews 11:1 (ESV)
“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
The common phrase “out of sight, out of mind” refers to the fact that if something is not seen, it can be easily forgotten. However, Hebrews 11:1 offers a different take on sight and sound. Here, we read that our faith proves that just because we cannot see something in person does not mean it doesn’t exist. The work being done by our OMS missionaries in countries outside the U.S. is closely tied to this idea.
Although I work at OMS World Headquarters in Greenwood, Indiana, and cannot see in person those being brought to Jesus or the experiences missionaries have while serving, my faith assures me that those things are still indeed happening around the world. Just as one can have faith that, even when we’re not looking, the world is still turning, I continue to have faith that, beyond my city, state, country, and continent, people are still doing God’s work and spreading the Good News.
How can you spread the joy of God’s kingdom, like the wind spreads seeds, in ways no one else sees?
