Find & Follow Jesus, Quarter 3નમૂનો

Devotional:
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.” Matthew 5:13 (NIV)
Jesus calls His followers the “salt of the earth.” It’s an image packed with meaning. In the ancient world, salt was highly valuable—it preserved food, enhanced flavor, and even symbolized purity. To be called “salt” is to be called influential and essential.
As salt, we’re meant to bring the flavor of God’s goodness into a bland and broken world. Our words, attitudes, and actions should reflect Christ in such a way that people notice something different—something that preserves truth, promotes peace, and points to hope.
But Jesus also gives a warning: salt that loses its saltiness becomes useless. In other words, when believers lose their distinctiveness—when we blend into the world rather than model who God is—we lose our impact. The call to be salt is also a call to remain faithful, pure, and spiritually vibrant.
This verse invites us to evaluate our influence. Are we preserving the values of God’s kingdom in our relationships, our workplaces, and our communities? Are we living with integrity, compassion, and courage? True “saltiness” isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being faithful and flavorful with the love and truth of Christ and promoting peace and hope.
Prayer:
Have you lost your zeal to live as ambassadors for Christ? Consider how others see you. Are you centered on truth, promoting peace, and pointing others to hope? If not, repent and ask Jesus to refresh your passion to model Christ well.
About this Plan

Follow our quarterly plans to read through the entire Bible in one year, plus a bonus round through the Gospels and Romans. Each day, we encourage you to read the sections from both the Old Testament and the New Testament, and then set aside some time to write down, journal, or memorize the first posted verse from each day. Every week we provide an additional devotional for further discussion on that week's themes.
