Acts 18:1-23 | Whatever It Takesનમૂનો

Don’t relent. Do what it takes. Bring Jesus and his gospel to a world in need.
Forces in this world will stand against you, and more importantly, against Jesus and his gospel. Bringing Jesus and his gospel will be wildly received and viciously opposed. Don’t let it stop you. When life closes a door, find an open window. Adapt, improvise, and persevere.
Paul is rejected at the synagogue. So he goes next door. Rejection in the synagogue doesn’t stop him. The Jews in the synagogue might not want to hear him. But Crispus, the synagogue leader, does. Paul is willing to go to him directly. And Crispus is willing to risk his position, his standing in the community, and his safety, for the sake of Jesus and his gospel. And later, Sosthenes, another synagogue leader, too.
Times like these can be scary. Take to heart what the Lord told Paul, “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city” (Acts 18:9-10, NIV). So Paul stayed in Corinth for a year and a half, teaching them the word of God.
Where do you see God making an inroad? Even if it seems inconsequential compared to the rejection you face, do what it takes to bring Jesus and his gospel to those who are responding. You never know what God might have in store. You never know the full extent to what God is doing. But you can know this. No matter what you face, God is with you!
About this Plan

Acts 18 is about early disciples willing to do whatever it takes for the sake of Jesus and his gospel. This 5-day plan continues a journey through the book of Acts, the Bible’s gripping sequel of Jesus at work in the life of his followers as he expands his kingdom to the ends of the earth. It’s a journey on what it means to be a Christian. It’s a story in which you have a role to play.
