7 Devotions to Perk Up Your Dayનમૂનો

The Carpenter’s Son
Do you come from a small town? A place where everybody knows your name and all your business too? A Green Acres kind of town, with one grocery store and one church. A place where folks nicknamed the city jail “amoeba” because it only has one cell, and a traffic jam is four cars stuck behind a tractor at the red light. And everyone within the city limits has climbed the water tower at one time or another. That’s small-town life for you.
Jesus was a small-town boy. Some historians have estimated that Nazareth had a population of about four hundred people back then.
Sweet Spoonful: The world and everyone in it is like a small town to God. He knows everything about everyone. He knows your comings and goings, your secret vices and sins, your thoughts, your plans, your dreams. The good, the bad, and the ugly. And yet, Jesus chose to lay down his life for you. He loves you and wants you to live eternally with him. Heaven is like the ultimate small town, and all you have to do to relocate there is invite Jesus into your heart. Who knows? Maybe there’s a water tower there too.
