The Thread Covers Me

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfil them." - Matthew 5:17 (NIV)

On our final day, we focus on how Jesus, the thread that runs through all of Scripture, covers and protects us. Jesus didn’t come to abolish the Law or the Prophets but to fulfill them, bringing God’s promises to their ultimate purpose.

In Exodus 12:22-23, the Israelites placed the blood of the Passover lamb on their doorposts to protect themselves from the plague of death. This blood symbolized Jesus' sacrifice, which covers and protects us from the consequences of sin and death.

Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection fulfill every promise and prophecy of the Old Testament. He brings together the entire biblical narrative into a unified story of redemption. From the Passover lamb to the sacrificial system, every thread in Scripture points to Him and finds completion in Him.

As we live our lives as new creations in Christ, we can rest assured that this thread of Jesus also covers us. His presence in our lives means we are secure and protected. Just as the blood on the doorposts shielded the Israelites, Jesus' sacrifice shields us, providing eternal safety and peace.
