Miracles and Mysteries: Matthew 8-13નમૂનો

What brings fulfillment in your life?
In what would have been quite startling for His listeners, Jesus tells them that He did not come to bring peace to the earth, but a sword which divides. But while it is startling, what Jesus was emphasizing is the cost required to be in His Kingdom. It requires undivided devotion. This is a kingdom whose citizens are wholeheartedly committed to following the King, whose lives are completely centred on Jesus. But the thing is, this is in no way a bleak citizenship; this is the only allegiance which can bring true fulfillment— a fulfillment in Christ.
A fulfilled life may seem like pursuing one’s own desires, comfort, pleasures, and safety. But Jesus makes the promise that by surrendering your life to Him, you will find true purpose, meaning, joy, and fulfillment. Deep in our heart is a God shaped hole, longing to be filled by the one who created us. And, it is our sin and unrighteousness, that means we long for something we feel we don’t have. But, then came Jesus, the Son of God, who satisfies that longing as He bridges the gap between a Holy God and a sinful people. Jesus is the only way to true fulfilment and while belonging to Him may come at a cost, it is far outweighed by what is gained.
Today, ponder this: How does Jesus bring fulfilment in the many different spheres of your life? What might surrendering your life to Jesus look like right now?
