Devotional:

“The Lord said to Gideon, ‘You have too many men. I cannot deliver Midian into their hands, or Israel would boast against me, ‘My own strength has saved me.’’” Judges 7:2

Judges 7 tells the story of Gideon and his army facing the mighty Midianites. Though Gideon initially had 32,000 men, God reduced his army to just 300. Humanly speaking, the odds were impossible—but that was exactly the point. God wanted Gideon and Israel to know that victory comes not through human strength, but through His power.

Like Gideon, we often feel weak and unqualified for the battles we face. Yet, God intentionally uses our limitations to display His greatness. When we surrender our fears and trust in Him, He fights for us. The victory is never about what we can accomplish, but about what He can do through us.

If you feel overwhelmed by challenges, remember that God does not need large numbers or great resources—He simply needs your trust. His strength is made perfect in weakness. Stand firm in faith, knowing that He is with you, guiding and empowering you for victory.

Prayer:

Pray for the humility to recognize where you are trying to fight your battles out of your own strength. Ask God to deepen your dependence on Him. Seek His power to work through your life, bringing glory to Him as you let Him fight your battles. Pray for your church to be a place where believers authentically embrace their need for God and find strength in His grace.
