7 Days to Discovering the Gift of Youનમૂનો

Plans to Prosper Me
After becoming a single mom during college, I worked hard to earn my degree and get that first job, but I wasn’t happy. I hated my job. I hated being alone. And I didn’t have any hope for what was to come. But you know what? The words of Scripture that my mother had spoken over me as a child rang in my ears: “For I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Guess what I did? I made a few lists. I made a list of things I couldn’t change, and I made a list of things I could change. (Yeah, I’m a list girl.) Then, one at a time, I began attacking the things I could change. And I went from being the girl who was struggling to being the girl who has learned to push past obstacles to build a life I love.
Are there things in your life today that you just hate—maybe your job, your home life, a certain role you play, a weekly task? The good news is that there are things you can change and there is a way to push past your obstacles. In fact, God has plans to help you love your life again.
As you consider God’s promise in Jeremiah 29:11, reflect on what it means today, for you, in light of your current situation.
Father God, I have faith that Your plans are to prosper me, giving me hope and a future. Today I put my trust in You, believing that You have good in store for me. Amen.
