Journey With Purpose: 25 Days of Growing Closer to Godનમૂનો

Peace Over Worry
Replacing worry with thoughts from the Bible
Do you worry? You’re not alone — nearly everybody does. It’s natural to be concerned about what is happening around us and in our own personal lives. But if we’re not careful, we can step over the line from concern into worry. Someone once said, “Worrying doesn’t take away tomorrow’s troubles, it takes away today’s peace.” Isn’t that the truth! Steve Douglass, former president of Cru, offers some great Biblical truth from Philippians 4 about overcoming worry.
Worry is usually caused by a feeling that we have lost control. The truth is that there’s very little we control. But God… He is in control of the universe! So while things might not be going the way you like, remind yourself that He is watching over everything. Today, every time a worry pops into your mind, stop and talk to God about it, then replace your thoughts with something true, lovely, and good from God’s Word! That’s the path to peace along your journey.
Application Question:
- Steve says "Today, when you feel that worry building up, start talking to God." Do you talk to God when you are worried? Why or why not?
