21 Days: Commissionedનમૂનો

DAY 5: THE POWER OF AN ENCOUNTER
Key verse: At this, Joshua fell with his face to the ground in reverence. “I am at your command,” Joshua said. “What do you want your servant to do?” The commander of the Lord’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did as he was told. - Joshua 5:14-15
Before Joshua led the Israelites to victory, he had a profound encounter with God. In Joshua 5:13-15, the Commander of the Lord’s Armies appeared before him, shifting Joshua’s focus and reminding him that the battle ahead belonged to the Lord. This encounter empowered Joshua for the monumental task of taking Jericho.
Throughout the Bible, encounters with God transformed and empowered people for His purposes.
Hiding in fear, Gideon encountered God, who called him a “mighty warrior” (Judges 6). Nothing changed in Gideon’s circumstances, but this encounter gave him courage to lead Israel to victory.
On the road to Damascus, Paul encountered Jesus in a blinding vision that redirected his life. Once a persecutor of Christians, Paul became a pioneer of the faith, bringing the gospel to the nations (Acts 9).
At the burning bush, Moses encountered God and received his calling to deliver Israel from slavery (Exodus 3). This encounter equipped him with boldness to confront Pharaoh and lead his people to freedom.
We, too, can encounter God in this season. Whether through prayer, worship, His Word, or moments of stillness, God invites us into His presence to meet with Him. These encounters restore, reposition, and empower us to walk into His purposes. When we seek Him wholeheartedly, He draws near (Jeremiah 29:13).
This season of prayer and fasting is an opportunity to experience His presence. Pray for a fresh encounter that will transform you and prepare you for what He has commissioned you to do.
Response
How might God be calling you to seek Him afresh today? How can you intentionally seek an encounter with God in this season?
About this Plan

In this 21-day devotional, Commissioned, we’ll explore how God called Joshua to lead His people into the Promised Land—and how He’s calling each of us to step into our own mission. Just like Joshua, we are commissioned by God to advance His purposes, no matter where we are. Over these next 21 days, you’ll be challenged to walk in faith, courage, and obedience, knowing that God goes before you, equips you, and strengthens you for every battle ahead. Prepare to reflect on your calling and the impact God wants to make through your life.
