When Jesus makes a prediction, it will always happen. Jesus predicted that all His disciples would be offended because of Him that night. Offend in this passage means to cause to fall away or stumble. Peter denies this prediction, denying that he would ever fall away from following Jesus. Jesus makes another prediction that Peter would deny Him three times that night. Again, Peter denies this prediction. Peter’s words were powerful, but later on, we find that his actions disproved his words. Don’t we all feel the same spirit at times as Peter did? Truly, our actions speak louder than our words.
