Imagine being one of the people in the town where the Woman at the Well lives. You see her running back into town shouting that she has found the Messiah. Allow those words to wash over you. Allow yourself to recognize belonging in a woman who for so long has felt like she didn’t belong.

It is easy to think that you have to be perfect to belong to God and the Church. But the reality is that Jesus meets you where you are. He presents you with the promise of belonging to something greater and empowers you to share that good news with others. Who is someone in your life yearning to hear that promise of belonging?

Jesus, you call us into belonging with you. Open my eyes and heart to those who have shared that promise of belonging with me. Stir within my own heart the cry of “Jesus is the Messiah,” so that I too can run back and share your Good News with those in my life.
