Blind Love (Adapted from Mark 10:45-52)

Tim understood what it felt like to be lonely. He felt the deep despair of darkness and loneliness. He had never seen the light. He felt the heat of the sun and knew the warmth of his mother and the tender tone of her voice. He heard her pray often for his sight. As he grew, his loneliness grew too. He knew no one and could only sense the presence of others. Never knowing who they were. His days were dark, in fact, pitch dark, until the day he heard Jesus was passing. His friend, with whom he begged for arms, said “I heard this Jesus heals blind people”. Tim shouted his lungs out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy”. Love stopped at the cry of a lonely blind man and gave him what God alone could have – Love that heals. Tim’s eyes opened, and he looked at Jesus and saw love for the first time in his life. He followed him.
