Jesus taught another way to keep the Sabbath. Once, when asked about Sabbath-keeping, Jesus answered, 'Which of you will be the man who, having a sheep, and on a Sabbath it falls into a pit, will not make every effort to get it out?'

The American hero Desmond Doss, portrayed in the film 'Hacksaw Ridge', believed in this. When he was on the battlefield he didn't go to church or NGO on the Sabbath, he just made every effort to save whoever he could.

But isn't fighting a war work? We believe that to save a life, you can do anything on the Sabbath.
