Dinner With Jesusનમૂનો

All we have to do is turn on the news to see the world can be a terrifying place. In fact, for some of us, we don’t have to turn on the TV at all—we’re living it. There’s no shortage of evidence that the world feels out of control, scary, and impossible to navigate. The author of this psalm experienced the same kind of fear we can feel when facing the world. He knew what it felt to feel small, powerless, and terrified about the possibilities of what may or may not happen. But the psalmist also knew that when the chaos of the world swirls around us, God does not. God is steadfast, God is a refuge, and God is our safe place.
Knowing that, when we feel overwhelmed with the realities of the world, we should prioritize time spent in the presence of God as a refuge, as a constant, as a hiding place. We can let our thoughts spiral, our worries take off, and our fear multiply. Or we can sit in the presence of God amid the anxiety, fear, and worry, and just breathe. The world may not change on the outside, but our internal world will, making us more capable of handling whatever comes our way.

About this Plan

Some of our most meaningful memories revolve around sharing a meal. Food has a way of taking an ordinary gathering and making it memorable. That’s why it makes sense that some of Jesus’ most impactful conversations and encounters happened over a shared meal. Let's look at some of the meals Jesus shared with all sorts of different people and see what we might learn for our own time and context.
