It's Giving...Idol.નમૂનો

DAY 6: FOOD.
Biblically, gluttony is defined as working "for the food that perishes." We see it in excessive consumption and in an idolatrous anticipation that looks to food and drink to offer satisfaction and fullness for our souls. No one is saying we can't enjoy food, but when we look to food or drinks to make us "feel better" or "fix our problems," it might have become an idol.
Homework:
Ask God if there’s food or drink that He’s wanting you to fast (or abstain) from this week. Instead of eating or drinking “that thing,” spend time talking to God about what’s on your mind—the good and the bad.
Write down your thoughts in a few brief sentences and read them out loud to God. Drink an 8-ounce glass of water whenever you feel the urge to overindulge this week.
About this Plan

Idolatry isn’t always “in your face.” It’s actually a very subtle thing, and we’re ALL guilty. In this 10-day plan, let's define idolatry, identify idols in our own lives, and get helpful tips on how to avoid "the drift" toward idolatry, known and unknown. This plan will inspire and reveal truth about ways we allow people, places, things, and even world ideologies to take God's role in our lives.
