Proverbs 17:6
Grandchildren are the crowning glory of the aged; parents are the pride of their children.
PRINCIPLE:
It takes three generations to establish a legacy.
The distinguishing mark of Abraham was that Abraham would direct his household and command his children after him. This way, the covenant promise would be established in three generations as a lasting legacy: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Solomon said, “A righteous man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children.” (Proverbs 13:22)
The greatest compliment that a man could receive is to hear his children tell their children, “We serve the God of our father.”
Living with this goal in mind will help you deny a temporary appetite for a more effective future.
REMEMBER:
We should think in terms of generations when we make decisions. How will your life reflect living a legacy?
