40 Days of Prayer & Fastingનમૂનો

Fasting Creates Spiritual Strength
It was God’s plan all along for us to fast. The scripture in today’s reading says WHEN you fast, not IF you fast. He will reward what is done in secret. Matthew 6 teaches us that prayer, fasting, and giving are three things that directly reflect our spiritual maturity. If you are unable to do these things, you won’t grow in spiritual strength. This is the secret to growth: pray, fast, and give. If you feel like you haven’t been spiritually growing, practice these things. Read and meditate on Matthew 6 today and be challenged by Jesus’ words about how to give, pray and fast. Fasting is an invitation to be the strongest you have ever been, but it will require that you be the weakest you have ever been—because we are not strong in our own strength.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the way You meet us in fasting. Thank You that You reward what is done in secret. Teach me how to give, pray, and fast. Thank You for Your Word that outlines and teaches me how to do these things in a way that is pleasing to You. I want to make You proud and obey Your instruction. Spirit of revelation, open my eyes. Help me to grow closer to You and to grow in spiritual strength. Amen.
About this Plan

Fasting is a spiritual discipline that calls us to deny the desires of our flesh and fill ourselves up with God, His Word, and His presence. Over the next 40 days, we will grow in intimacy with God, position ourselves to be in His perfect will, and learn about His dunamis power in our daily personal encounters.
