We Belong Togetherનમૂનો

Don’t Run From Different
Here’s a hard question: Have you ever felt like you weren’t wanted because you were different from everyone around you? Maybe you felt like you somehow didn’t belong because of how you look or talk or move.
Feeling different can tempt you to run from the truth of who God made you to be. Instead of being ashamed, how can you be confident and see yourself the way God sees you?
Watch this video for more on this topic.
As you learned yesterday, you belong in the Body of Christ. His followers are a mix of different and distinct flavors. We need variety to share God’s love! Appreciate what only you can bring to the full Body of Christ. Don’t run from different, because you belong!
Ask yourself: Do I ever feel the need to be a copycat? As in, do I do things like other people just so that I’ll fit in with them? What is causing me to run from being different?
Challenge yourself: Next time you’re tempted to do, say, or think the same way as everyone around you, stop. Remind yourself that your differences are of value and interest both to God and to others!
Pray: God, thank You for making me. Please help me to learn and recognize the value You’ve given me. Help me to remember that I am made in Your image. Help me to bring what only I can bring to Your story. In Jesus’ name, amen.
