Moses's Leadership Qualities – Part III
In this Bible reading plan, we’re looking at Moses’s great leadership qualities using the acronym HARD. We’ve discussed being humble and approachable. Today we’ll look at being a representative of God.
Leadership can become intoxicating when many people seek your wisdom. It’s easy to think that it’s your wisdom they are seeking rather than God’s.
Moses led hundreds of thousands who constantly brought their disputes and conflicts to him. Rather than taking credit for the power he had, Moses realized he was simply God’s representative.
In Exodus 18:15, when Moses’s father-in-law asked Moses why he was judging all the cases, Moses answered him, "Because the people come to me to seek God’s will."
God desires you to represent Him well by not keeping the glory for yourself.
Questions for Reflection:
- What steps can you take to ensure you’re a representative of God versus a representative of yourself?
- What key characteristic surfaces for those who are beginning to believe they are the source of their own wisdom?
- What are some ways we can make sure God receives the glory instead of ourselves?
